Not a finished product<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hi, I’m the guy behind Clearheaded<\/span> & Committed.<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

This started as a way to keep myself honest. Turns out other people needed to hear “me too” as much as I did.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I flip a tire in my garage most mornings. I’ve counted dry days on my fingers and then lost count on purpose. I’ve cried in a parking lot after a good therapy session and felt like a fraud the next week. All of it is here \u2014 the reps and the relapses, the long runs and the short fuses.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

I used to only tell half the story<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The version of me at parties was doing “so much better.” The version of me at 2am was not. Writing publicly closes that gap \u2014 there’s only one version now, and it has to be true.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Accountability beats willpower<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

I’m not disciplined enough to keep promises only I can hear. Knowing someone might read Tuesday’s post makes Tuesday’s choices a little harder to fudge.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Someone else is mid-mess too<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

I looked for this kind of honest, unfinished story when I started and mostly found highlight reels. If this saves someone a few years of feeling alone in it, worth it.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

“I’m not writing about the man I used to be, and I’m definitely not writing about the man I’ll be someday. Just this guy, this week, trying again.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some weeks the posts are proud \u2014 a personal best on the tire flips, forty days without a drink, a genuinely calm Sunday. Other weeks they’re not. I still publish those too.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n\n<\/div>\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
